This project merges web design, graphic design, and creative coding to represent the complex journey of an ammonite fossil from the point that you find it high in an arid mountain range all the way back to the deepest reaches of geological time.

The journey begins with a huge printed poster measuring approximately 3' x 5' that invites the audience to engage with the website and their printer to complete the story by installing printed mini-posters (8.5" x 11") in the section on the left-hand side.

The array of printouts, found through an engaging 'treasure hunt' through a field of ammonite fossils on the site, tell the full story of a morphing geography burying and calcifying a once-dominant species.

This project allowed me to flex my expertise in geospatial analysis and data processing to turn real reconstructed scientific data (seen left) on prehistoric continents into elegant and engaging graphics.
The full product experience was demonstrated to graduate students at California College of the Arts in December 2025.
My choice to wear a Jurassic Park hat on that day was unintentional, but fitting.
